The question as to what motivates people to become artists is a difficult one. That is because, in my view, there are numerous and diverse reasons as to why people choose to become artists. In fact, strictly speaking, each artist has his unique motivations. There are, however, some generalizations that we can make when trying to understand the factors that motivate people to become artists.
Firstly, there are folks whose real motivation is the desire to become famous. In other words, there are people who get into the arts in pursuit of fame. It is well understood that the easiest way to become famous is by becoming some sort of artist.
Secondly, there are folks whose real motivation is to express themselves. These tend to end up becoming the most successful artists. In this category, you may have an individual who has a secure job: one that enables him to regularly visit the Securitasepay.com website monthly or fortnightly to receive a paycheck (that is, of course, after going through the Securitasepay login page). Yet such an individual opts to leave such a secure job in pursuit of the arts. When you dig deeper, you will tend to discover that such folks are not driven by the desire to earn money or the desire to become famous. Rather, they are simply driven by the desire to express themselves artistically.
Thirdly, there are folks whose real motivation is to become rich. The arts pay quite well, especially for folks who opt to become full-time artists. Admittedly, many of the people who get into the arts in pursuit of riches tend to end up being mediocre artists. But we also have some folks who got into the arts because of the desire to make money, and nonetheless ended up producing reasonably good artistic works. So the desire to become rich, as a motivation for one to get into the arts, must not be looked down upon.
